vrisk respects your privacy and processes personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This page explains what we process when you use the checker and how we handle cookies.

1. What we process

• The website address (URL) you enter: used only to run the technical check of that website and produce the report on the spot.
• Technical request data: such as the originating IP address and browser type, logged temporarily by our hosting provider for security.

We do not ask for sign-up, name or email to use the free checker, and we do not build a profile of visitors.

2. Purpose and lawful basis

We process the URL you enter to provide the service you requested (running the check), on the basis of taking steps at your request and our legitimate interest in operating the tool securely, under Article 6 of the UK GDPR.

3. What we do NOT do

• We do not use tracking cookies, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar;
• We do not sell or share your data for advertising;
• We do not keep a personal history of the URLs you check tied to you.

4. Who we share with

Only the provider strictly necessary for the tool to run:

• Railway — application hosting.

5. Cookie Notice

This site uses only strictly necessary cookies to function. We do not use analytics, performance or advertising cookies, so we do not show a consent banner — there is no non-essential processing to consent to. If this changes, we will ask for your prior consent, with an option to refuse, in line with PECR and ICO guidance.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, portability, information about sharing, and to object. To exercise them, use the contact below. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
